Johnston Franklin Bishop is an experienced and recognized law firm centrally located on Vancouver Island that provides a broad range of services. Our practice areas include Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Estate Litigation and Corporate and Commercial law.
We represent clients all across Vancouver Island, including Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum, Port Alberni, the West Coast, Courtenay, Comox, Campbell River and Duncan.

Company History
Johnston Franklin Bishop has been locally owned and operated since 1983, when Richard Johnston founded Johnston and Company. He operated this firm for several years, establishing the dedication to exceptional service that the firm would come to be known for.
The firm became Johnston Lewis & Company, followed by Johnston Lewis Franklin with the addition of Glen Lewis in 1985 and Blair Franklin in 1996. The firm benefited from Glenn’s service and dedication until his retirement in 2003, following which the firm became Johnston & Franklin.
Over the course of the past 40 years, the firm has consistently provided the quality legal services they are known for. They have built a strong client base in Nanaimo and the surrounding areas and maintained a close connection with the community.
Marsha Bishop became partner in 2014 and the firm continued under the new name of Johnston Franklin Bishop.
Greg Phillips joined the partnership team in 2017, at the same time as Richard Johnston retired. While the partnership structure has changed from time to time, the firm remains deeply committed to delivering the exceptional service they are known for, and to continuing to give back to the community.
